Town of Marion Employment Opportunity - Building Commissioner

The Town of Marion is seeking interested applicants for the full time position of Building Commissioner. The Building Commissioner is responsible for department level management of the Building Department. This includes the enforcement of all construction and related codes, serving as the town’s zoning enforcement officer, directing the activities of all subordinate personnel, performing the administrative work of the department, directing the issuance of permits and the collection of fees, preparing and issuing reports, maintaining files, and preparing and managing departmental budgets. The successful candidate shall have a minimum of a high school education and five years of closely related experience in construction, engineering or design including supervisory experience; bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
