Town of Marion Announces Extension of Tax Deadline for Marion Taxpayers
Town Administrator James McGrail and Town Treasurer/Tax Collector Katherine Milligan would like to inform residents that, per recently signed state legislation, the Town is extending the due date for tax payments in response to COVID-19.
In accordance with the Act to Address Challenges Faced by Municipalities and State Authorities Resulting from COVID-19, signed on Friday, April 3, the Town is exercising the option made available by the legislation to extend the due date of tax payments.
The original deadline for tax payments due on May 1, 2020 has been extended to June 1, 2020.
"We are offering this reprieve for residents significantly impacted by COVID-19 and hope this provides a little bit of relief for those who need it," Milligan said. "For our residents who are not as significantly impacted and are still able to pay by the original May 1 deadline, we request that you do so so that the Town can continue to operate within its budget."
Though Town offices are currently closed to the public, there are several other payment methods available:
Online payment via Unipay at www.marionma.gov. Click on "Online Services" that is located on the upper left menu of the front page of the website to access Unipay.
Use the drop boxes in front of the Town House located at 2 Spring St., Marion, MA 02738. Payments dropped in the drop boxes should be in the form of check or money order; please do not put cash in the drop boxes.
