UPDATE - Due to equipment issues, the work described below has been rescheduled for Tuesday October 15, 2024 and Wednesday October 16, 2024. All other work activities remain the same.
The street resurfacing program in Marion this year includes a method called "CRACK SEAL". The Town of Marion, through their paving contractor Indus, will be crack sealing Converse Road on Thursday, October 10, 2024 and Friday, October 11, 2024. Work will not start before 7:00AM and will finish before dusk.
A Crack Seal is a minimally disruptive, preventative maintenance surface treatment designed to prevent accelerated deterioration of a street. It consists of applying a mixture of asphalt cement and reinforcing fibers in and over cracks in pavement.
Please note that work schedules are often altered by unforeseen events such as scheduling conflict with other utility work, weather, etc., which may result in delaying the Crack Seal. We will do our best to keep you informed.
