Mission Statement
The Marion Town Clerk's Office is committed to providing the best customer service to Marion residents, visitors and employees by providing public information in a timely, professional manner; to ensure and support the democratic process of elections and town meetings and to preserve the historical documents of the Town for future generations.
Clerk Duties
- Chief Election Official (including Registrar), Recording Official, Justice of the Peace, Notary Public, Registrar of Vital Records (births, deaths, and marriages), and Records Access Officer.
- Issues state licenses and permits, including marriage licenses, business licenses (DBAs) and renewals, dog licenses, fuel storage licenses, raffle/bazaar permits, and requests for public documents.
- Responsible for all elections, census, and voter registration, as well as overseeing the polling place and the conduct of all elections and election-related activity, and recording all actions of Town Meetings.
- Records and certifies all official actions of the Town, including town meeting legislation and appropriations.
- Administers the oaths of office and maintains appointments and resignations of all Town Officials.
