Overview

Mission

The Energy Management Committee (EMC) develops and implements initiatives to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from, and energy consumption by, Marion's municipal, residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional sectors.

Accomplishments

Marion reduced energy consumption by 24% from 2018-2024 thanks to LED streetlights and Green Community grant funding energy efficiency projects. 

Marion has received a total of $913,662 from Future Generation Wind (FGW) as of August 2024.
