1. All meters used by water & sewer customers shall be furnished and owned by the Town of Marion. Any meter injured by frost, or through negligence of a water customer shall be repaired or replaced at the customer's expense.
2. All water that passes through a meter will be charged to the customer.
3. Failure of owner or customer to receive a bill does not relieve him/her from obligation of its payment or consequences of nonpayment.
4. No person except the authorized employee of the Water Division will be allowed to install, remove or repair any meter.
5. The property owner or customer must keep such meter accessible for reading and inspection at all times.
6. When a meter fails to register the consumption, the quantity shall be estimated either by the previous readings or by the number of people living in the house during that time.
ANY ABATEMENT REQUESTS MUST BE MADE IN WRITING AND RECEIVED AT THE MARION DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS OFFICE WITHIN 30 DAYS OF THE BILL DATE.
