INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY
In the event of inclement weather van transportation by the Marion Council on Aging will be cancelled.
Cancellation of van service will occur if:
1. The Old Rochester Regional School District closes school due to unsafe driving conditions.
2. If school is not in session and the Director or designee feels that unsafe driving conditions may exist she/he will contact the Police Department for an assessment of the road conditions.
3. If the Police Department deems the roads unsafe, van transport will be cancelled. Van drivers will be notified if the van will not be operating and a message will be left on the COA phone recorder.
4. Riders who have pre-scheduled van service for that day will be notified.
5. Resumption of van service later in the day due to improved weather conditions is at the discretion of the Director or designee after contacting the Police Department for road conditions update.
