MEALS ON WHEELS
The Meals on Wheels program is designed to supply one meal per day, five days a week (Monday through Friday) to those Seniors (60 and older) who cannot attend our meal site at Sippican School because of an incapacity.
Caution is exercised to prevent Home Delivered Meals from increasing a person’s isolation and dependence. Therefore, our objective is to encourage participation at Sippican School to provide Seniors the opportunity to socialize with others and prevent the stagnation and loneliness of isolation.
It must be understood that Home Delivered Meals are approved during a time of need. At a future date, if there is no longer a need, the Home Delivered Meals will be discontinued.
The suggested donation is $2.00 per meal. This may be in the form of a check or cash and will be collected on Mondays.
PRIORITIES FOR ELIGIBILITY: (Must meet all of the following)
Inability to attend Sippican School lunch site
Inability to prepare a meal, lack of homemaker or other assistance
The above may be temporary or permanent
